Student Employees can Work in a Paid Position During Program!
This is a paid training position to become eligible to take the National Emergency Medical Technician licensure exam and be on the state and national EMT registry. Your time will be spent split between the EMT course, computer training, classroom time, skills lab, and clinical training (unpaid) and working under the supervision of the ER Nurse, EMT, and/or Paramedic to assist with the care and
operations of the emergency room and the ambulance (paid). Once accepted into the program you will have a five (5) month period to complete the training program, pass the national testing, and obtain your national registry. If you have not completed the program and have not obtained your national registry after the five-month period, you will not be eligible for paid work but will be able to complete the course portion. Once you have obtained your national EMT registry, you are eligible for hire into a permanent EMT position. After completing the required employment commitment, the cost for the course will be waived.
Qualifications: Must be at least 16 years of age.
Starting wage is $16.03 per hour. Once certified starting wage is $18.73.
