Please see below for a weekly update from the Cook County Highway Department regarding construction on 5^th Ave.:

This week, concrete sidewalk placement has resumed. Manhole and water valve collars are also being cut and placed in the bituminous roadway. 

Traffic may once again access the Courthouse west parking lot using 2^nd St. or 3^rd St.

Next week, roadway striping and signage installation will be completed.

Sod installation is also scheduled for early next week. This sod will be installed with the intention of going dormant this year and taking root in the spring. This is a common practice in sod installation at this time of the year. We will be monitoring the green up of all sod next Spring to make sure that if there is any die off over winter that it is replaced.

The street is tentatively set to be open to public traffic by 10/30.
