Welcome First Responders!

North Shore Health Training

Welcome First Responders!

I’ve been teaching EMR and EMT classes for years.

There’s something so special about working with a group of dedicated and motivated people who devote their evenings learning how to better serve their community in a time of need.

The past three months, I’ve had the pleasure of training responders from Lutsen, Grand Marais, Colvill, Hovland, and Grand Portage.

Cook County, you now have NINE new emergency medical responders (EMRs) and FIVE EMRs that have been freshly recertified!

A big thank you to each of these individuals for their time and attention, to Meghan Flynn our Education Coordinator for her continued support and assistance behind the scenes, and to my crew for all of their help over these past weeks – even when we had to get creative and Zoom me in for class (thank you, Josh!).

I’d like to give a special shout out to our own, Ben Belland (EMT/FF, Paramedic student) who has started to expand his teaching wings having spent the past six weeks at my side helping instruct and guide our future responders.

It does take a village.

Thank you.
