Beaver Plane Intercept

NSH EMS Grateful for Partnerships with Area Responders

Beaver Plane Intercept

Not every patient is easily accessible.

We are so grateful for our partnerships with area responders.

Thank you to Gunflint Trail Volunteer Fire Department, Search and Rescue, and United States Forest Service.

This happened over the weekend.

Hiker couldn’t get rescued the day of the injury due to the unavailability of the seaplane, so it was scheduled for the next morning.

USFS operates the Beaver (plane).

The Beaver picks up an EMT or medic from their base up off the trail and then they head in together to retrieve the patient.

In this particular case, a Gunflint volunteer EMT went in to retrieve the patient and bring them back to our crew.
