COVID-19 Safety Policy Update
Visitors are always welcome at North Shore Health. Please respect the visitation guidelines of the individual care units (emergency room, hospital, nursing home) as well as the special restrictions posted on patient and resident room doors.
Per the end of the public health emergency (PHE) and changes of CDC/MDH guidelines, as of 6:00 a.m. on May 17, 2023, masks no longer need to be worn in standard healthcare settings. This includes both the Hospital and Care Center. Masks are now optional and are available at entrances. New Respiratory Illness Safety Policy signs have been posted at all entrances.
North Shore Health will continue to track and monitor COVID-19 trends in the community as well as grouping with other respiratory illnesses such as Flu A, B and RSV.
FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR PATIENTS AND STAFF:
If you are visiting and have tested positive for Influenza A, Influenza B, RSV or COVID-19 in the past 10 days, please do not enter.
If you are here for treatment of a respiratory illness, please wear a mask and check in at Registration.

- See registration team member if you have any questions.
- DO NOT VISIT IF YOU ARE COVID POSITIVE OR HAVE COVID SYMPTOMS!
Upon entering this facility you agree:
- You have not tested positive for COVID in the last 10 days or have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID in the last 14 days.
- You are not experiencing COVID symptoms: fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea

If you have questions, concerns or have tested positive after being in the building, please call 218-387-3040 and ask for the administrator on call.

COVID-19 Testing
All hospital patients will be tested for COVID-19 prior to hospital admission or transfer.
Community members who have symptoms or have been exposed to an individual with COVID-19 should call Sawtooth Mountain Clinic, 218-387-2330 and ask to speak with the triage nurse about being scheduled for COVID-19 drive-through testing.
A limited supply of at-home antigen tests may be available to the public free of charge at the North Shore Health Registration desk and the Sawtooth Mountain Clinic entrance, as well as other locations across the county. Availability is dependent on supply and is not guaranteed.
Visitation Information
All Patients and Residents may receive visitors according to their individual preference. Some limitations to visitation may apply if patient/resident is in isolation.
Please be advised that all patients and residents reserve the right to decline visitors or set parameters for visitation. It is recommended that you call the patient, resident or staff member in advance to discuss a plan for visitation.
