National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week

This week-long event aims to celebrate pulmonary rehabilitation programs and the rehabilitation therapists who administer them.
For individuals who suffer with a chronic lung disease, there is hope for a more full and active life through pulmonary rehabilitation. Pulmonary rehab may be recommended for patients with lung disease who experience shortness of breath frequently and are not able to perform daily activities despite daily use of medication. Many patients in rehabilitation programs have a diagnosis of COPD, but these programs also help people with other types of chronic lung disease that limits breathing and activity.

Through our pulmonary rehab program, we work with you to improve lung function, reduce symptom severity and improve quality of life.

Our skilled nursing staff provides education and an individualized exercise program to increase awareness about your lungs and your disease. Our goal is to maintain or increase your overall activity tolerance with less shortness of breath. The skills, exercises and knowledge learned in the program will help you better manage your chronic lung disease may even decrease the need for hospital visits.

Patients can participate in pulmonary rehab by obtaining a referral from their provider at Sawtooth Mountain Clinic.
