Speech Language Pathology Services
North Shore Health is excited to offer Speech Language Pathology services starting July 15th for our Long Term Care Residents and Hospital patients! We are also excited to offer outpatient Speech Language Therapy to our Cook County residents! Danielle uses telehealth to provider her services right in your home. If you don’t have internet or the correct device that is no problem at all. The hospital has options available to complete your session in the hospital just as if you were in person.
Who is Speech Language Therapy for?
• Difficulty understanding what is being spoken, or while reading
• Difficulty formulating sentences to express wants, needs and thoughts
• Difficulty participating in conversations
• Substituting another speech sound for the correct speech sound
• Noisy breathing, clicking sounds, and/or poor eye contact during communication
• Hoarse/harsh/strained voice
• Nasality
• Speech is too loud or too quiet
• Chewing for an extended amount of time
• Drooling or leakage of solids/liquids in the mouth

About Danielle:
Danielle Pessia is a licensed Speech Language Pathologist in the states of Minnesota, New York and Texas. She also holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Danielle received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Communication Disorders and Sciences and her Masters of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology from the State University of New York at Fredonia. Danielle has over 12 years of experience providing speech therapy to both children and adults with a wide range of disorders and impairments across a variety of settings.
