May 12-18
North Shore Health honors National Women’s Health Week (and month)!
Beginning on Mother’s Day (May 12), the goal of the holiday is to empower women in such a way that they can make health a priority. It also equips women with the knowledge to help other women on their journeys to improve their health. With the efforts of individuals and healthcare workers, every woman can live a healthy and happy life. The theme for this year is “Women’s Health, Whole Health: Prevention, Care and Wellbeing.”
To improve your physical and mental health, you can:
• Get regular checkups, including a yearly well-woman exam. Talk to a healthcare provider about any health concerns you have.
• Get active.
• Eat a healthy and balanced diet.
• Prioritize your mental health and learn how to cope with stress.
• Practice healthy behaviors. Daily decisions influence your overall health.
