North Shore Health provides emergency care to all patients regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.

When your health is a concern, paying for your care should be the last thing on your mind.  Our staff at NSH is here to assist you and make the process as easy as possible.  We accept all forms of insurance, but individuals should contact their carriers for verification of covered services.

We ask your cooperation in furnishing all of your insurance information at the time of registration. Please provide any insurance cards you may have to the attendant.  If you have insurance coverage, we will submit a claim to your medical plan for payment.  Any balance remaining after your insurer processes the claim will be your responsibility.  We may ask for emergency room co-pays on the day of service if appropriate.  Your plan deductibles/co-insurance/co-pays will be your responsibility.

You are responsible to provide information requested by your insurance carrier for prompt payment.  If you do not, the outstanding balance will be your responsibility to cover.

You will receive a statement from us under the following conditions: you have no insurance and are responsible for balance, you have insuranceand the claim is pending payment, or you have insurance and the remaining balance after insurance processing is your responsibility.

Questions about your deductible/co-insurance/co-pay amounts should be directed to your insurance carrier.  You will have 30 days from the statement date to pay your account in full. For your convenience we offer online payment.

If you are not able to pay the balance in full, please call our offices to arrange a payment plan with your Patient Account Representative that fits our policy and your budget.  We have a Financial Assistance plan available for those who are uninsured/underinsured.

Please ask your Representative for details.  If your account goes unpaid, please understand that further methods of collecting the debt may be pursued.  Please call your Representative with questions or problems, we are here to help you.
