North Shore Health EMS is happy to announce that Dr. Ameen Taleb has stepped up to be our department’s medical director.
This comes after the retirement of Dr. Paul Terrill who faithfully served our department for the past 30 years!
Dr. Taleb has served as the medical director for North Shore Health’s ED for over a year and brings with him a lot of passion for teaching.
In addition to his many leadership appointments, board certifications and awards, Dr. Taleb also serves as an Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program Director at SSM Health Monroe Hospital in Wisconsin.
Dr. Taleb and I will be working closely on some ambitious training initiatives and goals that I have for our EMS department.
One, in particular, is the introduction of the portable Butterfly ultrasound for those veins that are hard to access.
Dr. Taleb kicked off our first in-house training this month and we look forward to many more hands-on learning opportunities throughout the year ahead.
Watch us grow at North Shore Health EMS!
