North Shore Health hosted one of two Boot Camps that are being offered by Wilderness Health in 2024. The next one is in Hibbing on May 7th and 8th.
The Preceptor Boot Camp, sponsored by Wilderness Health Education and hosted by the Rural Wisconsin Health Cooperative (RWHC)’s Cella Janisch-Hartline and Jo Anne Preston, was packed with valuable information on teaching and mentoring skills necessary to engage new employees. Thirteen NSH employees participated representing the Ambulance, Care Center, Education, Housekeeping, Hospital, and Radiology departments. We had two RNs from Ely and one Radiology Manager from St. Luke’s. It was an awesome two days of learning and practice through active simulation learning and role-playing scenarios. Thank you to everyone that participated. Keep your eyes open for future meeting dates to keep the preceptor conversation going.
